Day 2 of Natalie’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge and today we get to think about why we want to live a freedom lifestyle.
Of course, freedom means different things to every person. For me, freedom means not having to go to work every day. As for why I want to live that kind of lifestyle? It’s simply because I don’t like going to work every day.
It’s probably pretty simple, but, I don’t want to keep doing something every day, that I don’t enjoy.
I’m currently part of that world of people, that go to an office every day, and have to sit there for the required 8 hours, whether I get anything done in that 8 hours or not, is irrelevant.
While I’d like to think that the work I do adds value to world, it doesn’t add value to mine; except for the pay packet and the computer skills that I gain along the way.
But it doesn’t enrich my life. And I want my life to be enriched.
Sometimes I feel like I’m being selfish, for wanting to have a life that enriches me.
Beauty to admire, relationships to cherish, food to savour, nature to bask in.
You can see I’m finding it difficult to translate into words what it is I feel about freedom. So rather than try and say it eloquently, I will say it bluntly and simply.
Freedom is being able to enjoy every single day of my life. To spend time enjoying nature, cultivating the relationships with my loved ones, learning about things that inspire and ignite, working on creative projects that add to the beauty of the world.
And ultimately, helping others who, by seeing the example of my own life, recognise that life is beautiful and make the changes in their own life so that they too, live a life of freedom.
It’s a lofty goal, but I think that a life lived by example, is the most powerful inspiration that we can be to other people. I want to be an example. I want to love my life. I want to be free. And if my life inspires or encourages others, THAT is a rich life.
